After referring to the NETS-S I have found that I am on track for assuring my students meet their standards. I feel that the communication and collaboration standard is the one I meet the most. I utilize a class website that also incorporates a blog for the parents and students to participate in.
I look forward to introducing my students to:
- iTouches
- Class blog
- Class website
- SMARTboard
- Lap top cart
- Flip Camera
All of these technologies that are available to my class will be useful in fulfilling my requirements to the NETS-S standards.
WOW! That is an impressive list of technology tools that you have available for student use. Just last year I had a SMARTboard installed in my room and I LOVE it! I can't believe how the students reacted to it too! We did a walk through for our new 6th graders and they were mesmerized by it. How do you plan to incorporate the iTouches in to your lessons? Do you have any suggestions regarding effectively using the SMARTboard to deliver instruction?
ReplyDeleteI use my SMARTboard in everything that I do: calendar, math lessons, writing and centers. This will be my 2nd year with my board and I would never want to go back to teaching without it.
ReplyDeleteAs far as my iTouches, I plan to use them as a follow up to lessons already learned. I will use them as a center and have either a reading or math game loaded for use. I may even try using them as a tool to study spelling words..I will record the words for the week in Garage Band and then they can listen, pause and write the words and then check them selves at the end.
Good luck with your board...they are fantastic tools for the classroom.
